The Regional Head of Medical and Technical Affairs (M&TA) is a vital role within our research and development space as the medical-scientific authority on all health-related topics in the regional Personal Healthcare portfolio. This person will work across local, regional, and global teams to represent LA in providing strategic feedback in review meetings, innovation projects, roll outs, and ensuring Medical Governance & Compliance standards are met. They will optimize the impact of M&TA activities by improving strategic focus in innovative technology and economic and regulatory trends by embracing the power of data and analytics.This leader will oversee a team of 7 team within the LA Region. They will also play a key role in developing and growing the regional and country M&TA resources, including retention and new hiring across the function.Key Responsibilities: Safety and Labelling Committee (SLC)Attend the SLC as an expert on certain topics, provides scientific input and support as a basis for decisions of the SLC that impact the region.
The SLC is a decision-making body of PHC for product labeling on a global basis and for routine risk management.NPD/ Innovation StrategySupport and in specific cases evaluate medical-scientific assessments and provide a recommendation for (new) ingredients, indications, applications, formulations etc.,Assess new ideas, concepts, in-licensing and development opportunities from a regional Medical perspectiveCompany Core Documents & Compliance PoliciesServe as the interface between SLC and Global M&TA CoE and local Medical Managers across Region LA, for non-strategic and strategic brands from a process, coordination, and communication to the countries across LA point of view.Be the Medical responsible for Medical Governance and Compliance standards being harmonized and adhered to across the region, ensuring that business partners are fully aware of everyones individual and company responsibilities Marketing / New Business Development / RBUsEnsure MMP (Medical Master Plan) are timely put in place and are fully aligned on with marketing strategy and plans.Provide information/recommendation in terms of medical scientific questions and inputs market research, requests / product offerings by third parties and BUs),Approve claims and materials for the region in case Medical Management is not available on a local level in the region/ country and in case of 1st level escalationClinical studies / non-interventional studies/ ISTs & publicationsContribute to study design led by Clinical DevelopmentFocus on clinical research to generate new data, real world evidence (RWE), Observational studies, ISTs or innovative data mining, to drive positive impact for consumers, patients and build HCP endorsement and advocacy to protect our brands/ provide competitive advantage.
